The Celos Bombora (Celos is our carbon fiber division) has a slender bladed, straight 1 1/8" steerer carbon fork. This fork has plenty of tire clearance for a 2.3-2.4" tire, 3 pack mounts on the legs, internal routing for the brake and dynamo, and fender mounts. While rumor will say carbon is stiff, from my experience riding the sample Celos fork on my Evasion it is no stiffer than the stock steel fork. Beyond the fork, this Bombora frame has a few upgrades including: bolt on brass downtube cable guides, loop cable guides on the chainstays, and a shaka integrated seatpost clamp. This version of the Bombora has integrated headset cups. It takes a Chris King Dropset 4 or any BMX integrated headset. Upper and lower bearing dimensions are 42mm with a 45 degree taper.
If you're curious about sizing, we usually recommend sizing up with the Bombora. Check the FAQ to find our contact info if you want to chat about it real quick.
IMPORTANT: The Bombora is NOT a mountain bike. Yes, we know it fits a large tire, but the tube set is light. Think about it as a "plus" size tire gravel bike. We keep the tube set light to keep the ride quality opulent. That means its great for bombing some road/ groads, but its not meant for single track or a big chunky jeep trail full of rocks and huge ruts for you to run into square on. If you do ride it on that kind of stuff and break it, we will not replace it.
Build Notes:
We DO NOT condone the use of a front rack on our carbon forks. Would it be totally fine? Maybe? Can we afford the law suit when your fork breaks and you go from "Ah nah man I'm chill, even if something happens it'll be on me." to "Those *#&!@*$% it's all their fault, they'll PAY!", no we cannot. So please, use some common sense here.
Designed around a 650b/ 27.5" Wheel with a 2.3" max tire size.
You can run it 700c with a max tire clearance of 48c on the rear and up to a 29x2.3" on the front.
Takes a ROAD crank. Ideally 1x with a maximum 44 tooth chainring. You can set it up 2x, but it's on you to figure that out.
It uses flat mount calipers front and rear. Max rotor size front and rear is 160mm.
If you're looking to get a Palm Oil Brake Kit we don't quite have all of the hardware for one, yet. If you do have Palm Oil calipers already, the minimum front rotor size will be 180mm because of how tall they sit.
The front brake is direct mount and will require an M5x0.8 bolt that is atleast 36mm long with a lock washer to bolt through the fork.
Front and rear thru axles and compression cap for fork are included.
Here is some fork weight capacity specs for those of you looking to load up:
3 Pack Mount- 3kgs per side
Max Stack Under Stem= 40mm and you will need at least 5mm over top of the stem for the compression plug
