The Spark fork is ideal for those of you looking to turn that old road bike into a 650b low-trail, supple'd, high volume'd, canti brake'd, randonneur delight. Its got all the braze-ons you will need for fenders, a bag support, and some lowrider racks. It's clearance fits a 42 or a 38 with a fender which should match up pretty well with the clearances of old road bike frames when 650b swapped. The over all construction of the fork is relatively light weight so you don't have to add a bunch of grams to that otherwise light frame. It comes ED Coat Black so its ready to be painted over or just keep it black, it goes with most things.
This fork is not intended for mountain bike use. Think about this fork the same you would as a frame like our Canti Lightning Bolt.
Build Notes:
This fork will work with your bike as long as it has a 1" headtube. It doesn't matter if the current headset in it is threaded or not, but you will have to use a threaded one with this fork.
This fork comes in 5 different Steerer Tube Lengths. You will have to measure, crunch a number or two, and order accordingly.
Ideally you want your steerer to be long enough to be able to get the top lock nut from your headset threaded most of the way onto the top of the fork and have the bottom lock nut snug up the headset and not run out of threads before doing so.
Each fork has about 55-60mm of threads at the top of the steerer tube.
