The Dead Sailor AKA The frame formerly known as the FTW. FTW can be quite the provocative acronym. It could stand for an plethora of things and the choice is yours what that thing will be. For us, in the case of our dirt jumper frame, it stands for Frank The Welder. We collaborated with Frank to whip up a batch of US Made aluminum dirt jumper frames and what we have here is the outcome.
The mastermind that is Garbaggio swung by and painted up a few of the Dead Sailor Dirt Jumper frames we had left at the shop. These things look stellar and are all 1 of 1 Garbaggio Originals! Invest now in these art pieces before his global domination of the art world takes hold and they're worth millions in NFTs.
We've got a few RockShox Pike DJ Forks to go with these. If you'd like one, leave a note on your order and we will reach out about it and make you a deal.
Build Notes:
The FTW DJ uses a 26" wheel and has a max tire clearance of ~2.3".
Max Chainring Size is 30t
The head tube diameter is 44mm top and bottom so really there are a few different headset and steerer options when it comes to your fork setup. Typically you will end up with a tapered 1 1/8" Upper/ 1.5" Lower steerer. When shopping for a headset that "SHIC" would look like this- ZS44/28.6 EC44/40. If you are on more of a budget you may get a fork with a straight 1 1/8" steerer in which case the SHIC will look something like this- ZS44/28.6 EC44/30.
Designed to take any DJ fork between 100-160mm, just depends on what your preference is for slackness and travel.
